There, you can scroll through all the settings without changing tabs. Your image is in the centre, and all the adjustment settings are on the right-hand side of the window.

On the left-hand side, you can look at your editing history and apply presets. There’s a steep learning curve for photographers who want to start with Capture One. This might make the editing process very challenging for beginners. Lightroom is more beginner-friendly, according to many users. Its interface is simpler, thanks to its straightforward modules and panels. This doesn’t mean that beginners should avoid Capture One at all costs. If you’re okay with the steep learning curve, you should have no problem using the program. If you’re an advanced photographer, you might find this transition less challenging. If you transition from Lightroom to Capture One, you’ll have to get used to its unusual importing system.

If you transition from Capture One to Lightroom, you’re likely to get used to the program very quickly. Editing FeaturesĬapture One and Lightroom offer unique editing tools. Many of them are similar, but there are also a few that are exclusive to each program. These are often necessary because general editing isn’t always accurate. For example, you might want to darken the sky without affecting any other area of your image. You can achieve this with a Gradient tool. Local adjustments are common in landscape and portrait photography editing. Lightroom’s local adjustments are the Adjustment Brush, the Graduated Filter, and the Radial Filter. There isn’t a big difference between Lightroom and Capture One in this area. Both have decent local adjustment options. Both can help you edit very specific parts of your photos. This is similar to what you see in programs like GIMP and Photoshop. You can use layers to place adjustment settings on top of each other. You can think of this as painting over an image to enhance it.

You can also change the opacity of these layers. This is great for making effects look less intense. It’s also an easy way to undo certain changes if you’re unhappy with your final results. Lightroom doesn’t have any layer options at all.

It doesn't seem possible in Mac OS or at least it's unreliable as it is now or has been in OS X.You can create separate ‘layers’ for adjustment brushes or gradients, but that’s as far as you can go. It would be nice to have a common solution that works across ALL apps and scenarios. The autocorrect or system settings might work sporadically for this or learn it and work great. You would have to use a specific keystroke for each program for that. In ADDITION to doing the above apps tend to control the characters' use and do not follow the system settings. Clearly, the characters exist in the table, somewhere.

Uncommon fractions would require manual intervention. You would also have to do this for common fractions like, '½, ¼, etc.' Mac's error correcting schema seems to occur automatically for specific combinations. I still seem to have a character substitution in place for 0ᵀᴴ (e.g., 100th is typed as 0ᵀᴴ and put the '10' or other characters before it), as an example.

Windows does this rather elegantly somehow. I actually had this working, sorta nicely at one time, but then it stopped. You would have to force superscripts for '1st, 2nd.' or for the last numeric character typed before a space to force those following specific two letters as superscripts WHERE THEY OCCUR. These might also affect Web browser apps like the one I'm using now.
